My Life in May

What have I been doing this month? I honestly don't know if I remember! :D
My two aunts, Marissa and Marita needed a change, and wanted that change to be their hair. One Sunday (it was actually Mothers Day :P ) we decided to chop all the dead ends off, then they would get it done again later in a salon. The below picture is of my sister cutting all Marita's dead ends off... ended up taking like six inches off -- her hair was that dead! Then they both got bobs and their hair highlighted, so that sure was a change! :P But I love both of their hair! It kind of makes my hair look dull... especially since my sister also got her hair cut and highlighted. :)
Well, enough about my aunts life, and back to mine.
I took my sister's yearly pictures! This is the first time I've ever done it, and it was kind of scary. ;) But I think they turned out quite nice. :)  Maybe one of these days I'll post them... if Felicity lets me. ;P
At the beginning of this month, my cousin (click here to view her blog) turned eighteen! So, my older sister and I picked her up, and went to "town". It was once my "hometown", but now I moved to another "town". (they are both the size of your thumb ;P) We went to the library, which was once a sheriff's office. (I've always thought that was cool) Outside the library there is a tree that gets lit up at Christmas time (thus, we call it the "Christmas Tree" ;P) and around it are benches. We sat down on one and ate some snacks. Then we walked down the railroad tracks. That was fun. We also found an adorable sign beside the tracks with the town's name on it. I lived there most of my life and never knew it was there! That's how much we go on the tracks. :P But, really, it was the coolest thing!
Then we went to an ice cream shop in my "new hometown" and treated ourselves. :D I've been craving I've cream ever since. ;)
After the ice cream shop we came to my house and had a "tea party" under the tree in our front yard. (the picture at the top is from then)
What have I been doing lately? Well, I finished school up this week. And now I can focus on planning our camping trip this weekend! There will be eight of us heading out to our church campout on Friday, and one of my cousins who doesn't live here will be meeting us there! I'm super excited! I've been needing a change in my life. But now that summer is here (because I am done with school), maybe life will get out of the rut that I've been feeling it is in. I am a shy person who loves people, so this campout is just going to awesome! -- I hope so, anyway. :) We went shopping for clothes the other day. Now, we just have to go shopping for the food! :)
My sister babysat an adorable "baby" for a week! Sadly, he had to go home today. :( But I'm told that he'll be back. He was such a joy to have around! :) My youngest sibling is eleven, so it's been awhile since we've had a baby in the house. ;) Just having him around made our days go by faster and now we don't know what to do with ourselves!  ha, ha!
We are now on the fifth season of Hogan's Heroes, then we will only have one more season left! Eek! -- At least I own the first one. ;) Even if the second is better. :) I love old shows! <3 But I've already said that on this blog. ;) This show really makes me laugh out loud! And I don't normally like comedies! But this one is awesome! My favorite characters are Newkirk and Carter... I'm not even sure if you care about that, but I told you anyway! :P ;)
A Daring Sacrifice by Jody Hedlund is finally sitting on the library shelf with my name on it! All I have to do is go pick it up. :D Since I still need 30 hours of drive time, I'm sure my mom will ride with so I can drive there. :) Then I can finally read that book. I've been waiting awhile for it. Let's just hope it's as good as I'm imagining! :D
Not sure when I will be getting my licenses. Like I said, I still need 30 hours, and it may take I while for me to drive that much. But I'm hoping I will before I turn seventeen in October. I'm actually hoping to get them this summer, but we'll have to see if that happens.
The weather here has been crazy! Raining one minute and sunny the next! But I've really been enjoying the rain. :) I know that the more it rains in the spring, the less the chance there is of a drought this summer. I really can't stand a lot of heat. And we don't have AC! :) I hope the weather is good for our camping trip. My sister said she just knows we'll either burn to death from the sun or our tent will float away in a flood! ha, ha! Maybe both will happen! Our weather changes its mind a lot. ;)
Well, that's my life! ;) Hope you enjoyed! I was going to post more pictures but our computer is acting dumb, and I want to get this posted. I have pictures of the railroad tracks and stuff... oh, well. :)

These Are a Few Of My Favorite Things Tag

Natasha @ Looking Through My Lens did another fun looking tag, so I'm going to do it. I think tags all together are fun! ;D
Like her, I don't really have favorite things, so I'll just say these are ten things that could be my favorites. :P

1) My Polaroid Camera

My mom and dad bought me this for Christmas. I was so excited! Someday I'd like to get a case for it. I've seen a whole bunch of cool accessories on Amazon that would be cool too! :D  This camera is a great way to make memories. Wouldn't it be a cool prop for a retro themed photo shoot?

2) Records

Aren't they just the coolest? I've also thought that records would be a good prop for a retro themed photo shoot. :) Course, what good are records without a record player?

3) Music

I love all music! Not just music on records. ;) I listen to different kinds of music. But nothing modern. :) I listen to music from the 1950s to the 1990s (sometimes something in the early 2000s). :P I like Country, Gospel, and Rock/ Pop (you know, from like the 1950s or 60s) :P George Strait, Randy Travis, Clay Walker, Ricky Nelson, Frankie Avalon, Annette Funicello, Paul Petersen, The Everly Brothers, and Shelley Fabares are some singers I like. :)

4) Old TV Shows

Old TV Shows are the best! :) Old Movies are too, but there's just something about an old show. Me and my siblings are watching Hogan's Heroes right now (we're just finishing season four) and we're loving it! I've watched most of the other shows that I posted in the above picture, but My Three Sons, we watched two episodes on TV in a motel once, and I've been wanting to watch it ever since! My aunt just bought half of the first season, and once she watches them (and we finish Hogan's Heroes) I'd like to borrow that. :)

5) Dresses/ Fashion

I love 1950s dresses, and just fashion all together! :) I like to dress up. Even when I'm dressing casual, I like to look nice. :)

6) Diaries

I've been keeping a diary since 2009, and I can't imagine not having a diary to tell everything to. ;)

7) Letters

I love getting letters and I love writing letters! :)

8) Videos/Pictures

I've always liked videos and the thought of filming. All the angles and lighting and stuff! But what is the use of videoing everything? After seeing Natasha's blog, I decided that taking pictures was just as exciting as videoing! But I still would like to make a movie someday. :P (I tend to dream big) ;)

9) Coffee/Drinks

I was just going to say coffee, but then I realized that I like drinks in general. :P In the winter I like a nice cup of hot coco or coffee or even tea. And in the summer I like an iced coffee, or tea! :) All different flavors! Lemonade is good too!:P

10) Old Things

Old cars! Old furniture! Old cameras (as you can see from number one :P)! Almost anything old! :D
Well, that's it! :D

Photo Shoot: Leaves, Flowers, ect.

I mentioned that I took some pictures last Sunday and that I might post them. Well, that's what I'm doing! ;P I don't think they turned out very good, here they are anyway. :)
We have this tree in our front yard that has beautiful leaves! They are finally turning green, but they still have pink around the edges. None of the pictures that I took of the green ones turned out, so you just get to see them pink. :P

Hope you enjoyed! :D

Meaningful Song Lyric Tag

I'm going to do the Meaningful Song Lyric Tag, that Natasha @ Looking Through My Lens did. It sounded fun, so here it is. :D

If I thought real hard, I'm sure I could come up with more... oh, well. ;P

I Tag:

LaKaysha @ Calico and Lace

Emily @ Living Through Jesus

If I tag more, they won't have anyone tag, so I'll just leave it at that ;P

Here's how you do it (copied from Natasha's blog):

Find some lyrics that you think are really meaningful from a song and type them onto a nice background. Be sure to write the song name and the writer.
OR you can just write it all on your blog page- you don't HAVE to make a background. ;) (You can do more than one, too.)
Then post it on your blog and tag however many people you want! You can also save the top picture and put it at the beginning of the post. :)

Have fun! :D

Crocheted with Love II

I haven't done a post in a while. (Skipped the whole month of April!) Sorry about that. :)
I haven't been crocheting really lately (lack of yarn), but I thought I'd do a post on things I've crocheted over the years. :) I'm not really sure, but I think I've been crocheting since I was twelve, but like I said, I'm not sure. :P  These are just things that I've kept for myself, I've made other things but gave them away. :)
I've already done a post called 'Crocheted with Love', so this is the second. ;)
A little girls headband with removable flowers. :) That way you have one headband, but it can match different outfits. :D

A baby blanket with matching headband. The blanket is kind of small - I think it would work best for when the baby is in the car seat. :)

This is only the second dress I made, so it's not so good. I've made others since that turned out better. :)

Another baby blanket. I think this is the first one I made that I used a pattern. That was a while ago. :P When I made it, I wasn't too sure about the colors, and I'm still not, but that's all I had for yarn at the time. :)
Well, hope you enjoyed!
(I took some pictures yesterday, so I might be posting those soon. Then again, I might not. It depends on if I think they're good enough ;P)
